OJSC RCTM is the leading industrial group in the field of freight car manufacturing. It was created in 2007 on the basis of the rapidly developing plants of the OJSC Mordovia Car Manufacturing Company (VKM Group). OJSC RCTM is the only railway car producer in the country with a wide selection of freight car types. OJSC Russian Corporation of Transport Manufacturing is a producer of rail wagons of different types including: hoppers, tankers, container platforms, etc; rail car casting and joints for rolling equipment; containers of different types, including containers for explosives and chemical agents. The stock number of serially produced freight cars is 48 models (and up to 20 models are currently being developed).
Russian Transport Manufacturing Corporation represents enterprises belonging to Russian Machines and to shareholders of the VKM Group of Companies.
The OJSC RCTM production is managed by the LLC UK RCTM holding, based in Saransk (Republic of Mordovia).
Russian Transport Manufacturing Corporation's customers include OJSC Russian Railways, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Russian Ministry of Defense, OJSC Gazpromtrans, OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, OJSC Severstal, OJSC TNK-BP Management, OJSC Lukoil, OJSC TransContainer, OJSC NOVATEK, OJSC PhosAgro AG, OJSC EuroChem, CJSC Russkaya Troika, OJSC TransGarant, OJSC SpetsTsisterny and OJSC Togliatti-Azot. The company exports to 16 countries around the world, including Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Finland.

Russian Machines' freight car manufacturing enterprises include:
OJSC Abakanvagonomash (Khakasia), the largest machine-building enterprise in Russia, specializing in universal (special-purpose) containers and 40- and 60-foot flat cars. The plant has been producing portacabins based on the 1AA and 1CC container since September 2009. In November 2009, it completed preparations for the mass production of for the series production of 1СХ containers 1320 mm high to carry and store low-radioactive nuclear power plant waste.
OJSC Ruzkhimmash (Ruzayevka, Mordovia) produces tank-cars, gondola cars, flat cars, gas equipment and filling station apparatus.
LLC VKM-Stal (Saransk, Republic of Mordovia) produces 180 cast-house products, and a range of 200 instrument-making and maintenance products (including iron, heat-resistant steel and ordinary steel), with 150 customers in Russia.
OJSC Vismut (Ruzayevka, Republic of Mordovia) produces insulating materials used in track structure repair, and three types of semi-conducting start-control devices for passenger carriage lighting systems.
LLC VKM-Service (Ruzayevka, Republic of Mordovia) specializes in depo capital repair of carriage cars, railway transport and vehicles.
OJSC Neon (Insar, Republic of Mordovia) - is a manufacturer of railway spare parts.
