Description of activities:
Transstroy is one of Russia's largest holdings which build major transportation infrastructure facilities, including roads, bridges and tunnels.  In the last decade, the holding's companies have constructed more than 100 such facilities.

In Moscow some of the most important project completed to date include reconstruction of MKAD (Moscow Ring Road), construction of the Third Transportation Ring Road with a unique Lefortovo Tunnel, as well as construction and renovation of Berezhkovsky, Kievsky and Andreevsky bridges.  The largest projects currently under way include reconstruction of Vnukovo Airport Complex and Leningradsky Prospect, as well as construction of Sheremetyevo-2 Airport runway.

Transstroy is building the Ring Road, Sea Façade Port and Flood Protection Facilities in St. Petersburg, reconstructing runways in Pulkovo and Gelendzhik Airports, and constructing Diversion Road and other Olympic sites in Sochi.  Transstroy is currently working on several concession projects, of which the largest are Western High-Speed Diameter highway and Pulkovo Airport development.

Government contracts are among the company's key priorities.  In late 2008, Transstroy won the tender to complete construction of the Tommot-Kerdem-Yakutsk section of the Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk railroad in Sakha Republic, valued at 34.5 bln rubles.  The railroad will link the Republic with the federal railway network.  Also, Transstroy became the winner of the tender to construct Zenith soccer stadium in St. Petersburg valued at 13 bln rubles.

Transstroy enterprises operate throughout Russia's regions, as well as in foreign contries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Turkey, Syria and Morocco.

The holding includes more than 30 companies which develop, construct and modernize transportation infrastructure facilities, providing for turnkey implementation of complex construction projects.  The holding's leading companies include Transstroy Corporation, Tunnelny Otryad 44, Transstroy Engineering Corporation.

A successor to the Soviet Union Ministry for Transportation Infrastructure, the holding became part of Basic Element's Construction Sector in late 2008.

Transstroy's 2007 consolidated revenue is 35 bln rubles.

Basic Element and Island Global Yachting sign memorandum of intent to operate world-leading marina in Sochi

Basic Element, Russia's leading diversified investment company, has today signed a memorandum of intent with Island Global Yachting (IGY) to manage a world-leading marina complex in Sochi, paving the way for significant employment and investment opportunities in the region. IGY is also considering an option to become a co-investor in construction of the complex.
