Basic Element Says Strabag of Strategic Importance to Company

Oleg Deripaska's Basic Element sees Strabag SE as a strategically important investment.
Basic Element yesterday repaid half a premium for a call option for Strabag and plans to repay the rest of the premium next week, Sergey Babichenko, a spokesman for Basic Element, said in an e-mailed statement today.
"It's important to understand that the cooperation with Strabag is and was strategically important for us, that is why we are extending the option," Babichenko said.
